Vergílio Ferreira, who was born in the village of Melo (Gouveia) on January 28, 1916 and died in Lisbon on March 1, 1996, was "a unique author in the history of Portuguese literature" and the Évora Chamber wants to honor him with this touristic tour.

Places such as the current central building of the Colégio do Espírito Santo of the University of Évora, where the National School of Évora used to function, in which Vergílio Ferreira, after arriving in the city in 1945, was a professor, until 1959. The house where the writer lived, Alto de S. Bento, the Roman Temple, the Café Arcada or the Porta de Moura and Luís de Camões squares are other stopping points in the circuit, with "references to the novel by Vergílio Ferreira".
